and amazing burger with yam fritters (in tempura batter!)

errand day in chinatown...
delicious roast pork and duck, choysum,
and congee with pork innards.

for dessert, old favorite cupcakes in our old neighborhood.

a long walk to il porto for dinner.
grilled baby octopus salad, pasta fagioli, and 3 mushroom pizza.
all so good, always!!

beef goulash at the new catherine cafe.
and it snowed so much today!
huge, fluffy flakes early on - noodles loved watching them fall.

had a stroll around eating up chinatown,
celebrating 64ºF weather!

hon cafe (chinese diner/cafe food) : pork chop with black pepper sauce,
and hamburger steak with egg and rice.

then some nibbles for walking around, popcorn chicken at vivi.
unfortunately these were only a portion of what we ate today...

kimchi dukboki.
i have never put kimchi in dukboki, but it was so good!!!
there goes my left over sour kimchi~! :)

really good, inexpensive breakfast at mike's.
cheese grits, eggs over easy, bacon, and coffee.
what else could one ever ask for?

finally got out into the cold weather for dinner...

amazing tapas dinner at olea.
sangria, baby octopus, calabrian bomba dip, lamb meatballs,
plus mushroom & brussel sprout risotto!
followed by rich warm chocolate torte with vanilla ice cream and creme fraiche.

and it snowed on our way home!

finally the cheese shop we've been waiting for a year opened in our neighborhood!
we got a chunk of liverot cheese and merlot, with apples and salami.

we always come home from trips with a newly charged
enthusiasm about food in nyc, and try new places.

wonderful family thanksgiving.
preparing all day (though i was not feeling well & taking a nap -_-)
and filling the house with wonderful smells.
spending time with the family and hanging out with our sweet niece!
eating till i couldn't absolutely eat one more bite...

atlanda part 3.
went to see my dad-in-law's jet!! (not a personal jet - he's a corporate pilot)
then some korean food for lunch,
and siblings night out, eating tapas... good times!

atlanta part 2.
another amazing meal at my parents-in-law's place :)
black beans and rice, with proja.
i helped cook the rice!

went to atlanta for several days for thanksgiving with the family.
jenn's home made musubi & bahn mi sandwiches.

they were all amazing - especially home cooked bbq chicken bahn mi with fried egg!!!
it's great having chefs in the family. :)
