feeling like something different on a chilly day,
(and after seeing that neighboring Kif was closed for the day)
we headed over to General Greene, a relatively new restaurant in fort greene.
i rarely do "reviews" of places i eat,
but this place was SUCH a let down.
the burger you see afar on the top picture was probably
the biggest disappointment in recent months.
for $11, it was a white castel sized mini burger,
that came in cheap mushy buns and overcooked burger,
with measly slice of cheese and onions, with potato chips.
i had a better burger at a neighborhood diner for $3.
mine was baked eggs with blood sausage and apples,
topped with creme fraiche.
i couldn't taste any of the ingredients well, after
it came out in a mash of things.
the place had such great a sounding menu, which the results or execution didn't live up to.
and plus the service wasn't snappy either.
anyway, here ends my rant.
i just hate getting disappointed in meals,
especially when they're not cheap either.

our first visit to brooklyn botanic gardens with my parents-in-law.
(as is the case with most nyc landmarks, we visit it when we have visitors).
the botanic garden was so amazing and beautiful.
i'll have to visit it quite often on tuesdays (free admissions).
ended with a full (much-needed) overdose of chocolate. ;)

photos from montreal trip, part 2:
fall was on full force in montréal... park in front of my friends' house.
fresh baked handmade bagels from fairmount bagels.
AMAZING!!
a beautiful tapas meal shared with great company at sala rosa.
goat cheese balls with honey and carmelized onions!! O_O
seafood paella.
giant orange! it's the orange julep building.
where we got the poutine above. it was so good!
night view of montreal from mont royal.
our last meal, a great indian dinner at la porte de l'inde.
it was such a nice trip, though a long way back and forth,
accompanied by great friends and amazing meals...
