clinton street baking co. is one of those places with long lines over the weekends,
super hyped write ups all over the tourist guidebooks (seen a few while in there),
but we've only eaten there 3 times or so, including today.
and now i must write down why we so rarely frequent it, so i remember:
it's just not worth it.
"southern breakfast" with over-easy eggs, sugar-cured bacon, cheese grits
and fried green tomato... and my market salad with large lima beans,
leafy greens, and goat cheese croquettes.
good but not great, and definitely not good enough for the price.
(seems like that's my general conclusion for most places in manhattan,
except for a couple places and asian food).
