we happened upon brooklyn mac, a mac & cheese take out place that opened today,
and decided to give it a try (and they were giving out a sampler mini mac & cheese).

"Williamsburg", a veggie mac & cheese with mushrooms, tomatoes, and mozz,
(the red stuff - smoked paprika - was added at home)
and a "McCarren Park", a baby spinach salad with dried cranberries, gorgonzola, green apples & candied walnuts.

despite the gimmicky names, i thought both were decent,
except they forgot the bread crumbs on top,
one of the most important things (to me!).
i actually preferred the "Kings County" mini sampler,
just simple cheddar & american cheese and macaroni.

still, i have a hard time paying $9+ for mac & cheese... i'm just cheap like that.
and most places (the handful that i've even tried) tend to make the mac too soft.
i like them al dente, darn it!

i'll go back one cold winter day again, and see if i like it better next time.
