cold weather sometimes has me craving meat, maybe it's the

initial fatigue that comes with the season-change.

so we finally tried happy end (yes they only serve food), a polish joint

& neighborhood institution of sort.

we ordered beef stew & meat balls in gravy - both came with mashed

potatoes (perfectly chunky, the way we like) and a plate of "veggies".

good deal & satisfying!
