needed something yummy with certainty today, and after seeing
that the new calexico is still closed for the new year's holidays,
we headed down to la nonna pizzeria.

this place is amazingly good - the bread is amazing, pre-salted/peppered.
simple salad with balsamic vinaigrette, arugula prosciutto mozzarella pizza,
and a portobello panini were too much for us, but still really delicious.

then stopped by van leeuwen café, not for ice cream, but for a little dessert
(which we obviously didn't need) :


great canelé and a much-too-sweet molasses cake.
